01Heritage

Since 2008.

Markets have changed more in eighteen years than in the fifty before. The way we look after capital has not.

Experienced judgement, careful research and precise execution have guided every portfolio we manage from the very first day. It is why more than 140 client families and companies trust us today, and why 98% renew their mandate every year.

“A model can tell you what the evidence says. It takes a person to tell you what it means for your family.”

Jonathan founded Moritz Wealth in 2014 to bring the discipline and depth of institutional investing to the clients of the companies we partner with. He oversees every mandate personally, while each client is looked after one-to-one by a dedicated specialist.

CFA charterholder, MSc from the University of St. Gallen, eighteen years with private and corporate clients — most of them cross-border.

ApproachSince 2008

Judgement, refined by data.

For eighteen years we have combined experienced judgement with quantitative research and precise, systematic execution. The result is a process that is calm, consistent and continually improving.

Two Moritz Wealth specialists reviewing a model on screen

A long record, kept quietly.

The vocabulary around this work has changed many times. The method has not: form a hypothesis, test it honestly, execute it without emotion, and keep a person accountable for the result.

2008
First systematic currency model goes live — in the autumn of the financial crisis.
2011
Execution algorithms built in-house to reduce market impact and slippage.
2014
Moritz Wealth founded; models extended to client mandates.
2019
Multi-asset, multi-currency framework with daily risk overlay.
Today
One team, one process, and every decision recorded.

What sets our process apart.

01
Research with a reason
Every strategy starts from a clear economic idea, which we can explain to you in plain language.
02
Tested across every market
Inflation, crisis and calm — strategies earn their place by performing across decades of conditions.
03
Precision in execution
Proprietary execution models place orders efficiently, keeping more of every return in your portfolio.
04
Personal oversight
Specialists review every portfolio daily against your objectives, and your advisor is always within reach.

The value of investments can fall as well as rise. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results.

A letter from your advisor

Dear client, this was a strong quarter. Your portfolio rose 6.3% after all fees, ahead of both the market and our target path, while volatility stayed well inside the range we agreed together.

Most of that came from two decisions: moving part of the bond allocation into gold early in the quarter, and adding to alternative strategies that held up when equities paused in May. Your currency exposure remains aligned with your spending in euros.

Legal

Privacy policy

We handle a great deal of personal and financial information, and we take that responsibility seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what we hold, why we hold it and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Moritz Wealth AG is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. That means we decide how and why it is used, and we are answerable to you for it.

If you have a question about your data, or want to exercise any of the rights below, send us a message through the contact form and mark it "Privacy". It will be passed directly to the person responsible for data protection.

What we collect

When you make an enquiry: your name, how you would like to be contacted, the answers you choose in our contact form and anything you write in the note.

When you become a client: identification documents, information about your income, assets, tax residence and family situation, your investment objectives and your attitude to risk. We need this to give suitable advice and to meet anti-money-laundering rules.

For clients introduced by a partner institution, we also receive the details that institution shares with us under its agreement with you.

Why we use it

To reply to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to advise you, manage your portfolio and report to you.

To meet our legal and regulatory obligations, including identity checks, record keeping and reporting to the authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use it for third-party advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles from it.

Who can see it

Only the specialists working on your relationship and our client operations team. Access is limited by role and logged.

Where necessary, carefully chosen service providers — our custodian bank, IT and hosting providers, and auditors — under written agreements that bind them to the same standards.

Partner institutions receive aggregate service reporting only. They never see your personal portfolio details without your written consent.

Transfers abroad

Some of our providers store data in the European Union or the United Kingdom, which offer a level of protection recognised as adequate. Where data has to go elsewhere, we use standard contractual clauses and additional safeguards.

How we protect it

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Client files are held on systems separate from this website. Staff receive regular training, and access rights are reviewed every quarter.

No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever goes wrong, we will tell you promptly and explain what we are doing about it.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details for up to two years, unless you become a client.

Client records for as long as the law requires after the relationship ends — typically ten years — and then they are securely deleted.

Cookies

This website uses only the small number of technical cookies it needs to work properly. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You may ask to see the data we hold about you, have it corrected, receive a copy in a common format, or have it deleted where we are not legally required to keep it.

You may also object to how we use it or ask us to restrict its use. Send your request through the contact form and we will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

We review this policy at least once a year. When we make a significant change, clients will be told directly rather than having to find it here.

Terms of use

These terms apply to anyone using this website. They are short on purpose, but please read them — by using the site, you accept them.

About this website

This website is published by Moritz Wealth AG to describe who we are and how we work.

Everything on it is general information. It is not an offer, a solicitation or a personal recommendation to buy or sell any financial instrument, and it should not be relied on as such.

Who it is for

Our services are provided to clients introduced through our partner institutions and to a small number of selected private clients.

Some services are not available in every country, and nothing on this website is directed at anyone in a jurisdiction where offering it would be against the law. It is your responsibility to check the rules that apply to you.

Accuracy

We take care to keep the content accurate and up to date, but markets, regulations and our own services change. Information may be updated or removed without notice.

Nothing here replaces the contracts, reports and documents you receive as a client. Where they differ, those documents take priority.

Journal articles

The articles in our Journal reflect the views of their authors at the time of writing. They are meant to explain how we think, not to tell you what to do with your money.

Figures and examples are illustrative. Before acting on anything you read, speak to your specialist.

Corporate log in

Access to the corporate portal is limited to authorised users of partner institutions.

Keep your access card number, key and password confidential, and never share them — not even with us. Tell us at once if you think they may have been compromised, and we will lock the account.

We may suspend access at any time if we suspect misuse or for security maintenance.

Links to other websites

Where we link to other websites, we do so for convenience only. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Liability

We are not liable for any loss arising from the use of this website or reliance on its content, except where the law does not allow that liability to be excluded.

We also cannot guarantee that the site will always be available or free from errors, although we work hard to make sure it is.

Intellectual property

All text, images, the Moritz Wealth name and crest, and the design of this website belong to Moritz Wealth AG or its licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal use, but may not copy, republish or reuse them without our written permission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swiss law. The courts of Zürich have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer in your own country.

Risk disclosures

Every investment carries risk, including the ones we manage. We would rather you understood those risks clearly at the start than discovered them later. The points below are general; your specialist will go through the ones that apply to your own portfolio.

General

The value of investments, and any income from them, can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than you originally invested.

Investing should be seen as a medium- to long-term commitment. Money you may need in the next few years is usually better kept in cash or short-term deposits.

Past performance

Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. This applies equally to simulated or back-tested results, which are produced with the benefit of hindsight and do not reflect real trading costs in full.

Systematic strategies

Many of our strategies are rules-based and use automated, machine-driven systems to analyse markets and place orders. They are designed, tested and supervised by our specialists.

Even so, no model can anticipate every market condition. Strategies can behave unexpectedly in unusual markets, data can be wrong or delayed, and technology can fail. We have controls in place for each of these, but they reduce the risk rather than remove it.

Market risk

Prices of shares, bonds, commodities and other assets move with economic news, interest rates, politics and investor sentiment. Diversification helps, but in a broad market fall most assets can drop at the same time.

Currency

Where investments are held in a currency other than your own, exchange-rate movements can increase or reduce your returns, sometimes by more than the investment itself has moved. We can hedge currency exposure, but hedging has costs and is never perfect.

Liquidity

Some investments, such as alternatives and private assets, may be difficult to sell quickly or at a fair price, particularly when markets are under stress. Where a portfolio holds them, we size them so that you are never forced to sell at the wrong moment.

Credit and counterparty

Bonds and some other instruments depend on the issuer being able to pay. If an issuer defaults, part or all of the investment can be lost. Your assets are held by an independent custodian bank in your name, separate from our own.

Gold and commodities

Gold and other commodities can be volatile, produce no income and may be affected by storage, insurance and tax considerations.

Tax

Tax treatment depends on your individual circumstances and on where you live, and it can change. We take tax into account in our planning, but we are not tax advisers. For specific questions, we will work alongside your own adviser.

Advice

Nothing on this website is personal advice. Any recommendation we make is given only after a full assessment of your circumstances, objectives and attitude to risk, and is confirmed to you in writing.

Founder & lead advisor

Jonathan Moritz

Eighteen years advising private clients and corporate mandates. The standard I hold the firm to is simple: clients deserve the discipline, confidentiality and execution quality that institutions take for granted.

I oversee every mandate personally, but the strength of the firm is its team. Research, allocation modelling, risk monitoring and client operations each sit with a dedicated specialist, and every recommendation is shaped between us before it reaches you.

Most of my work is cross-border: people who earned in one country, live in another, and will retire in a third. That is where clear, careful advice adds the most value.

Mandates

Investment management

A mandate is a written agreement about how your capital will be handled — what it may be invested in, what it may not, how much risk is acceptable, and how often we speak. Everything below is decided with you before anything is bought.

Market data reflected in an office window at dusk
Discretionary

We execute within agreed limits and report to you. Suited to clients who want decisions made promptly and reviewed quarterly.

Advisory

We recommend, you approve each decision. Slower by design, and the right choice if you want to stay hands-on.

Second opinion

A one-off written review of an existing portfolio, with no obligation to move anything.

What is included

Written investment policy statement
Strategic allocation and currency-exposure plan
Ongoing portfolio monitoring against your objectives
Quarterly report and review call
Annual tax-reporting pack for your accountant
Coordination with your lawyer and auditor

Custody and control

Your assets are held in an account in your own name at a regulated custodian bank. We are granted a management authorisation — never a withdrawal right. You keep permanent online visibility and can revoke the mandate in writing at any time.

Custody is held at UBS Switzerland AG and Bank Julius Bär & Co. AG, always in your own name.

Who this suits

Mandates range from first accounts to substantial family portfolios, and are designed to grow with you over time.

Risk warning — The value of investments can fall as well as rise and you may get back less than you invested. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Currency movements can increase or reduce returns. Nothing on this page is a personal recommendation or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument.

How we work

What happens, and when.

A great mandate starts with understanding. This is how we move from your first call to your first report — clearly and at your pace.

Retirement & pension planning

Pension decisions shape the rest of your life. We model every option in advance — in writing, with the tax and currency effects shown clearly.

A retired couple walking along the shore
Pillar 2 decisions

Voluntary buy-ins and their timing, pension versus lump-sum at retirement, and what happens to your vested benefits when you change employer or leave Switzerland.

Pillar 3a and vested benefits

Staggered accounts to spread withdrawal taxation, investment choice inside 3a, and consolidating vested-benefit accounts left behind at former employers.

Cross-border retirement

Where your pension is taxed if you retire elsewhere, which treaty applies, and how the currency of your future costs should shape today's allocation.

What a plan contains

A full picture of the three pillars in one statement
Projected retirement income, in your spending currency
Drawdown sequence and the tax due at each step
Buy-in schedule, if buy-ins make sense at all
Survivor and disability cover, and the gaps in it
A review date, because the rules change

We work alongside your tax adviser rather than replacing them. Legal and fiscal questions are coordinated with your own advisers.

Who this suits

People within ten years of retirement, anyone leaving or entering Switzerland with pension assets in place, and business owners whose pension fund and company balance sheet need to be read together.

Mandates

Your clients, advised by our team

Established companies retain Moritz Wealth as the wealth-advisory team behind their own client relationships. You hold the relationship and the brand; we do the advisory work for each individual client — to your standards, under a written mandate from you.

How the engagement works
01
The company appoints us
One framework agreement sets the service standard, the advice scope and the escalation route. Your firm stays the client's point of contact for everything commercial.
02
We work with each client one-to-one
A dedicated advisor works directly with each individual by phone, email or WhatsApp — Jonathan on senior relationships — with our specialists behind them. Objectives, risk capacity, currency and timeline are agreed personally, always on behalf of your firm.
03
Advice and mandates sit in the client's own name
Where a client proceeds, assets are held at a regulated custodian in that client's own name. Neither your firm nor ours ever holds their cash.
04
You get the reporting, they get the confidentiality
Your firm receives service-level and aggregate reporting — clients advised, mandates placed and review calls held. Individual portfolios and personal circumstances are never shared back without that client's written consent.
05
Capacity, not headcount
The same senior team works on your clients as on our own — research, allocation modelling, risk monitoring and client operations — so you can add advisory capability without hiring for it.

Who retains us this way

Professional firms — legal, tax and audit practices whose clients value a trusted investment partner
Employers extending advice to executives and relocating staff
Family businesses covering shareholders and next generation
Foundations and associations advising their own beneficiaries

Clients introduced through your firm remain your relationship; we report to you with the same care we give them.

Governance and independence

Every recommendation we make to your client is documented with its rationale, risk assumption and date, and is auditable by you at any time. Conflicts, related-party products and retained commissions are all excluded by the framework agreement.

Suitability sits with us as the advising firm. Your firm's regulatory position is set out explicitly in the agreement rather than left to be assumed — including which of us is the client's adviser of record.

Advice given to your clients is subject to the same risk warnings as any other mandate: capital is at risk and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Audit, legal and accounting matters remain with your existing advisers; custody remains with your bank.
